Shipping groups are additional rules that can be configured at Fenix’s end that gives retailers more control over the services retailers ship certain products with and the services which can ship to certain zones.

Some sample use cases are as below,

  • Products like perfumes cannot be shipped via air

  • Only USPS can ship to Army zones

  • Carts over 70 lb can be shipped only via ground shipping

Such use cases can easily be handled by creating shipping groups.

Shipping Groups can be created based on three important criteria.

  1. Products

  2. Cart weight

  3. Shipping Zone

Shipping Group by Type of product

Here we have created a shipping group by product. The perfume SKUs can be shipped only with the UPS Ground.

 

 

Shipping Group by Weight

In the below example, we configured only UPS Ground can ship any orders above 70 lb.

 

Shipping Group by Zone

In the below example, we have configured a group that allows only USPS services can ship to US territories.

 

Multiple criteria in single group

We can also mix multiple criteria in one group. For example, we can define a group on the following criteria

  • Order can contain any products

  • Order should weigh less than 20 lb

  • The buyer belongs to US 48 states

Any order that falls in such a group must be shipped with only UPS services

 

Creating a Free Shipping Group

With Shipping Groups, you can also offer free shipping to certain orders. by enabling the Free Shipping flag.
