Customer Appeasement (Delivery Delay Coupons)

Introduction

While placing the order, the customer was promised a delivery date, but the shipment is delayed and won’t be delivered on time. Fenix Commerce will allow retailers to compensate for this poor Delivery experience by offering a discount coupon code to the customer for the next purchase.

Note: Retailer must enable delay delivery notification

Subscribing to Discount Coupon Codes

A retailer must subscribe to the Delivery Delay Shipment feature to enable customer appeasement coupons in case of delivery delays.

Once the feature is subscribed, The next steps are configuring and sending discount coupons for delayed shipments.

Subscription Settings

The first step to begin with the customer appeasement coupon code setup is configuring the subscription settings. All the fields here are mandatory.

Delayed Shipments criteria of multi-shipment order

Select coupon eligibility criteria for multi-shipment orders. Available options are:

At least One Shipment
All of the Shipments

If you select “All of the Shipments,” the shopper gets the coupon if all shipments of the order were delayed.

Dispatch At

Select when you want to release the coupon code to the shopper. This will automatically apply to all discount coupons created in Fenix. Available options are:

Before Promised Date
Only After Promised Date

Customer Selection (to redeem coupon code)

Select who can redeem the appeasement coupon sent to the buyer. Available options are:

Any Shopper
Only Buyer

Pre-requisite Configuration

The prerequisite configuration allows you to create multiple Delivery Zones and Customer Groups. These configurations can be applied while creating zone or customer group-specific appeasement coupons.

Delivery Zone

Create multiple delivery zones depending on the Country and State combination.

All the Delivery Zones you create here will be available in the dropdown while creating new discount coupon codes. This way, specific appeasement coupons can be created and sent to shoppers.

Customer Group

Enter Customer Groups who are eligible for receiving appeasement coupons. Fenix will store the customer groups that are available in imported sales orders.

Discount Configuration

Click on the ‘Create’ button to configure appeasement coupons. A list of previously created coupons is displayed below.

Creating New Discount Coupons

Enter coupon code name in Discount Config. Name field.

Eligibility Criteria

selects the delivery zones and customer groups eligible for this discount coupon.

Note: The Delivery Zones and Customer Groups must be created in the “Prerequisite Configuration” section.

Coupon Criteria

Several criteria are available to configure discount coupons.

Source Type (in range)

Select source type to quality orders for appeasement coupon eligibility.

Order Amount - Enter the order amount range for which this coupon will be sent in case of delayed delivery.
Item Quantity - Enter the order item quantity range to send this discount coupon in case of delayed delivery.

Shipping Source

Select shipping source criteria for applying appeasement coupons.

Shipping Method - Configure discount coupons depending on the shopper's chosen shipping method while placing the order.

Shipping Price - Configure discount coupons depending on the ‘ship cost’ the shopper had paid while placing the order.

Once the criteria are selected, the next step is to create discount rules. The discount rules will depend on the options entered above.

Use cases

Offer coupon code for All states in the US and All shoppers:

Create a zone for all states( refer to prerequisite configuration)
Select the created zone while Discount configuration creation in the section of eligibility criteria
Once eligible criteria are selected, then create coupons for that zone. We have several criteria for creating coupons.

if coupons create based on order amount and different coupons for specific shipping methods

Note: Please refer to coupon criteria, how to select eligible criteria and coupon criteria

Offer coupon code for specific states and all shoppers:

Create a separate zone for US-continental and Alaska, Hawaii ( refer to prerequisite configuration)
Select the created zone while Discount configuration creation under eligibility criteria
Once eligible criteria are selected, then create coupons for that zone. We have several criteria for creating coupons.

If a coupon is created based on order amount and different coupons for specific shipping prices

For US-Continental

If a coupon is created based on item quantity and different coupons for specific shipping prices

For Zone AkHI
